Gorana (Montenegrin Cyrillic: Горана) is a quite small village in Bar Municipality in Montenegro. The village is located south from the city of Bar in the region of Mrkojevići. Gorana has a population of 523 inhabitants according to the census of 2003. Gorana is divided into two sections, ''Velja Gorana'' and ''Mala Gorana''. Velja Gorana is mainly composed, among others, of Nikezić, Metanović, Grgurević, Kordić, Isaković, Vučić and Kovačević families. Mala Gorana is mainly composed of the Šabović and Sulejmanović families. These are the main surnames of these villages. Gorana is a rural farmland that has an elementary school since around year 1905. For further education children of Gorana will have to attend school in Pecurice. The current mayor of Gorana is Senad Dibra elected in 2013. Dibra was elected due to a landslide victory against opponent and former mayor Amel Nikezić.
